Ever heard about I-Commerce?

Okay, so we've heard about e-commerce (electronic commerce) and b2b commerce (business to business commerce) and even m-commerce (mobile commerce), but how about i-commerce?

I-Commerce is the short term for Idea- or Innovation-Commerce, a trading form that could be the start of a dream for all you inventors, innovators and cultural creative's out there.
I-Commerce includes the online trading of intellectual capital, aimed at profiting from the exchange of expertise and the sale of innovative concepts. Like QXL or other auction sites that put articles up for sale, these sites put great ideas up for sale!  Activities include the online trading of digitally-published data, ideas, patents, and licenses for business processes and technology, talent, and expertise.

The Swedish site www.interesting.org  make their customers pay to have their questions answered by the members of their community.  The customer then evaluates the ideas and the members with the best ideas then get paid through interesting.org.

One emerging site, www.ideas.com , connects companies that are looking for new ideas for a specific challenge with would-be inventors or idea entrepreneurs.  Anyone can log on and submit their idea to solve the company's specific challenge.  Participants even have a chance to win the idea contest (monetary) award. You can also submit any random idea you get and try to sell it to any Fortune 500 company through ideas.com. In essence, ideas.com is offering a new form of market research aimed at broadening the search for new ideas beyond the often limiting "focus group" method!  It also underscores the possibility and need of finding ideas not only in your R & D department, but making your innovation strategy external as well.

All this is a true indication that their is a revolution around the corner. Imagine being a free agent concentrating completely on selling your new good ideas online. You will never have to leave your rocking chair!

Idélaboratoriet has started writing the ultimate handbook for Swedish idea workers called Idéagentens Hemliga Handbok (the Idea Agent's Secret Handbook). Idéagentens Hemliga Handbook is a hands-on piece meant for professional and educational use, based on the phases of the idea generation process and the best tools and techniques available. The book is planned to be released early next year.

Idélaboratoriet are often working with graphically designed idea tools to enhance our production processes. Our customers have asked us about the possibility of using these tools which has led to a release of four different tools. Please take a look in the idea shop for more information
